Adding factory back up sensors

I have a 2006 Expedition EB and want to add the back up sensor system. Is the vehicle prewired? Can I add the system easily or should I buy an aftermarket? Thanks.

Welcome RMS911! I have the back up sensor in my Navi and glad I have it. Sadly, I have no idea whether it is a simple add on or not, although I think you might need to add the console switch that turns it of when backing a trailer, also, I don't know wher ethe beeper is. Anyhow, hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge migh chime in.

wiring

My 2000 Nav was prewired---the defeat switch wiring is in the center between the two front seats. Then there is wiring in the pillar just behind the right rear pass door. I didn't want to pay what the dealer wanted for their system so found a $30 system at Kmart in Illinois and installed it. Put two sensors on the bumper and the beeper on that pillar and a defeat switch by the drivers seat. Works great except useless in cold weather---the Kmart unit is not suitable in cold weather. But for the money it was a bargain. I suspect the wiring exists in your truck too as it's an not a std option so they usually put the wiring in = just not the components unless you pay for it.
