how does one add a signature?
 

I have not seen where the instructions are for adding a signature....I saw the definition but can not figgure out how to add one. Your help would be appreciated.

Signature editing is done in the USER CP.

Shaq, It depends what you intend to put in the sig and how you want it to show up.
Once in your CP

On the top left is edit Signature.click that and up will come a signature Message box.

Type in your content then click " Save Signature"
then back out to the forum pages and check one of your posts.

Each piece of code is considered a character.
ie: the brackets []are one character each
If you want bold you use
ending in

You are allowed 250 characters

Its not my intention to persist with this but one final question. Does the "edit signature" come up under Control Panel:Settings & Options?? If so it is not available to me nor can I locate elsewhere in the menus.

Yes at the top left hand corner.

I just noticed you only have 10 posts.
You need to have at least 25 posts with GOOD CONTENT to be able to have a sig.

Make sure your posts have valid content as FTE diapproves of Users "Post Padding" to get to a certain level.
Just keep interacting with people and that level will be achieved normally ;)

I understand the whole 25 good quality posts, is there somewhere i can see how many I have? This is my second go round as a member of this awsome site, as I was without internet for a long while.

Nevermind, duh- I see it now, but I still don't see edit signature in the user CP. I will look again.

OK, guess I'm an idiot, I still don't see it. I had a sig. under my old name, I just don't remember how. I can work on these ford trucks, but a computer to me is kinda like kryptonite to superman.

That is where I thought it would be. I have 30 + posts, hence my confusion. Edit email and password is the first option available to me on this menu.
