Looking at a 1960, what do I look for?

I've come across a 1960 F100 without a motor and trans. The asking price is very resonable. Are there any areas on the truck that I should be extra careful with when I look it over? I figure the cab mounts, rad support etc are areas to check, but what else should I spend time on? Are there any areas on the frame that are "bad areas" for rust? I figure if this works oput it will be a good father and son project for myself and my son. He's starting to show interest in cars, WOOHOO! One drawback is he's eyeing my 68 pretty closely, the 60 may divert his attention! Thanks guys.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Aug-02 AT 08:46 PM (EST)]Jim,
I have a 1960 F350 which is very simular as the F100 except it is heavier duty. The main problem I found is that it is very hard to find parts, especially body parts. The Years 1958-1960 are simular but if you check out parts catalogs, thoes years are rarely listed. I have many parts catalogs, so if you get it, email me at JFKF350(No Email Addresses In Posts!) & I will tell you the best places for parts.
As far as what to look for I think one of the most important things is make sure the cab to chassie mounts are not rusted off.
Good Luck,
Jim K (also)

In addition, Check for cab separation, bottom of front door pillars, Bottom rear of front fenders, and interior "step". The best place to find rust free sheet metal body parts is in Southwestern salvage yards. If you do purchase it, check out this site's Online store. they carry many various parts for the 1960 Ford, and Purchasing from them also helps support this site. (Just a little "plug" for Ken) :)

Thanks for the input, but I missed the truck. It went for $1000 CDN, a bit steep for my budget. I'll just have to keep my eyes open for something else.
