lift pump and wvo

have any of you guys running wvo had a problem with your lift pump leaking. I bought a wvo kit and installed it and it works great. 55 mpg on the diesel I burn. I have about 3000 miles since I installed the kit and now I have a leak somewhere on top of my motor filling the valley and running down the back passengers side of the motor. I don't know if it is because of the wvo or just time for the pump to go out. I have a 1997 ps with 170k.

Has the pump been repleced before?
I replace my pump @ 140K 20 month before I started running WVO.
I have had no pump or filter issues running WVO. About 5k 90% pulling 12k fifthwheel.

I have no data on the effects of WVO with the pump in our early powerstorkes...

Fuel in the valley is one symptom of a failing fuel pump and certainly somthing to check.
They are not indestructible. I suspect failure is more age related than miles but I really cant prove it, just a gut feeling.
Considering the age of your truck, almost 10 years, and the increased effort required to move the more viscous VO I'd almost bet its the source of the fuel in the valley.
