I love simple fixes

I recently went through and made a handful of changes which was great, almost, except that when you change only one thing and the truck acts up you know where to look. You change ten . . .
So I had some odd lurching that was somewhere between reliable and intermittent. I even posted here looking for a solution. Then the thing if you got the tranny hot would die if you shifted into reverse. Frustrating!!!
And I noticed that the tranny temps were too high. BTS had said with his tranny and a 6.0 cooler I'd never see more than 100 over ambient. But I drove 8 miles from cold start on a 40 deg day and hit 215. Somethin aint right.
Took it back to the guy that did the work, armed with a lot of superstition, reading, and hokus pokus but darn low on facts.
He started nosing around and I said "here's my theory . . . and we should check . . . and what do you think of doing . . . " blah blah.
I finished.
He said "I don't put stock in any of that."
I was kind of like, um, okayyyy, . . . ?
"Found the problem"
Kinked hose coming out of the tranny cooler. Fixed in ten minutes. We took it out and drove it, fast, slow, tuner turned off, all the way up, nothing. Couldn't get it to act up. And since I drove up there, when we started the temps were about 160 and a mile later they were under 120.
Have a nice day! he sez with a smile. Man I sweat a whole lot over that ten minute fix. Devil's in the details. I love it when its that simple.

Yeah, little goofy things like that can drive you nuts! But hey, at least it was cheap!

My dad and I had two projects on something together. One was hard, one was easy. I made a new quote up that says "The hard will be easy, and the easy will be hard". In my example it was the truth......sounds like it applies here too. It's also always the last thing you think of:-X06
