Another wonderful weekend... more "junk"

Went to an auction on Saturday in Sacramento and picked up these. Most of them $5-10 each.

This will be a wall hanging ($5):

This Atlas battery charger and Hunter wheel alignment machine still work! Atlas was $60 and the Hunter was $5.

Then today, I dragged another 52 home. This time it's an F3. It's complete except someone stole the front bumper and grill guard, and the heads and oil pan from the flathead. The radiator is also missing.

The price was very right!

Thank god I installed the winch a few weeks ago.

Not a bad find. That rear bumper looks exactly like the one on my '56 and here I was thinking it was an add-on all this time.

Nuthin, I think those "Barden bumpers" are pretty common. Mine's got one, and I've seen tons of them, mainly on bigger trucks and long bed F-100's like yours.

51panelman, nice truck! What are your plans for it?

Nuthin 10-08-2006 11:21 PM

That explains it... since I've seen precisely one other longbed like mine in all the years I've owned it.

Yeah, '51... when will you be buying acreage in Berryessa to keep all this old iron, eh?

If you haven't already yanked it out I would sure like to see some pictures of how the radio is mounted. I have a stock one just like that one but none of the mounting brackets.
Thanks

A busy weekend and a good score.

Congrats on the junk... :-D

Wow all kinds of cool stuff :)

Love those old chemicals -- are they still full? They go for big bucks sometimes. I looked at some for "garage art" but was scared off when the bottom fell out of a can of Gunk. Condensation had rusted a ring all the way around it. You might want to dump some of them (in an ecological manner).

Where do you find this stuff!?!

more junk

Ilya,
Nice find!!! i was just at the AACA Hershey car show this past week. All the oil cans I looked at were way over priced. Some of those gallon oil cans were over fifty bucks. Too rich for my blood. I guess people like displaying them and bringing them home. Maybe I ought to go to some auctions.
I did see a Marmon-Harrington Ranger in army green. Very Cool!!!! I will post some pics soon.

Some are still full and some are empty. I do have a few that have a very slow oil leak. I just place a towel underneath them and change it every month or so. Can't bring myself to dumping the contents.

And where do I find this stuff??? I keep my eyes and ears open. I also have relatives spreading the word for me. :-X22

I haven't pulled it yet. I have two 51/52 radios besides this one. I, too, am interested to see how it's mounted, even though I have the original NOS radio mounting kit for the 51/52 truck.

I'll take lots of photos before I pull it out.

I'm probably going to part it out. I need the Deluxe trim and parts for my '52. The bed is not salvageable becuase a small tree was growing through one of the stake pockets and completely destroyed it. The cab is also rusted through at the cowl and the hood is in bad shape. I mainly bought it for the Deluxe trim and parts. I paid a lot less for the whole truck than if I would have bought the parts piece by piece.

I'll save most of the parts, but the bed, frame and axles will be going to scrap...unless someone wants to come and get it for FREE!

Ilya
