EXCELLENCE in MUSIC BROADCASTING - WEVL FM 89.9

I have recently just smooth fell in LOVE with this radio station! Volunteer alternative radio, I drive to work usually hearing wild and current blues from local bands on it, and I tell ya what -

You cain't never tell what is going to be on there next!

They do a show called "BACK TO THE COUNTRY" from 8 to "sometime" in the morning that goes way back in years, but I pick it up from 7AM to 8AM and just love it to tears, boy.....

WEVL stands for "WE VOLUNTEER"

It comes out of Memphis, and this is their website:

FM 89.9 WEVL - the "BOLD WEAVEL"

Greywolf speaks the Truth!

My first post...just surfing the Forums, just joined and I was seeing what the area has to offer.

I live in Rosemark,North Shelby Co. and just purchased a '56 panel truck,it is just West of Evansville,In.I purchased a '64 Chev.Biscayne from the same gentleman and when I saw the panel I had to have it.Going to pick it up in the next month or so,needs mucho work but ran last year when he picked it up and parked it.The oil is clean..His story is it sat behind the police station in Hazzard Co.Kentucky for 27 years and is a confiscated moonshine truck.Looks like there was a big tank in the back, pipes are still there but tank is gone. But I digress.

I discovered WEVL a couple months ago surfing the stations while on my way to work. This is an awesome radio station and I have been recommending it to all.Good to see there is a like-minded person here.Blues,country,rock...you have to listen. If you don't like what's on at the moment, just wait a minute they will play something you dig.A lot of the programming I've never heard before so I'm glad I found a station that can give me some 'new' old stuff.

89.9 FM...listen to it.

WEVL is Volunteer User Supported Radio - so I don't have to worry about "PLUGGING" a commercial station (which would be a violation of FTE guidelines).

If you would like to hear what we are talking about no matter where in the world you are - download the latest version of "Windows Media Player", open it, click on "File", click on "OPEN URL" and copy & paste the following into the URL line:

http://peace.str3am.com:6030

You can see the daily program schedule at: http://www.wevl.org and also download the Windows Media Player.

It's playing fine for me on dial up, which was unexpected...

Just now I'm not sure what I'm hearing (music style), it sounds Gealic.

But at 2PM it will change to Progressive Rock when the program "Vapour Trails" comes on...
