I live in Sebring, Fl. I got a setup; 35gal appleseed and 55gal wash tank with 48gal of methanol and about 48lbs of lye, titration kit. everything but waste veggie oil. For $1000.00

Brians97F250Crew 08-16-2006 06:27 PM

do you use it or just upgrading to another system?

phatbulldog 08-16-2006 06:32 PM

I'm not doing it right now. I might start up again in January. Then I'll just build another system. It's just sitting in the garage right now. I did it for about 4 months really enjoyed I think of it like a hobby. It's something to do on a weekend and when your done you have $90 in fuel. Better then playing golf

true ... I hear that. Did you buy your lye and methanol locally? Was it hard to come by?

phatbulldog 08-17-2006 07:02 AM

I bought it from a company in Tampa called Chemstat. Ask for Tim he'll take care of ya.

cool ... thanks for the info. Now all I got to get is a source for used oil locally

Live in orlando and looking into doing it myself

phatbulldog 08-19-2006 06:45 PM

Like I said I got a complete kit for $1000.00 includes 4 metal drums and a 12v transfer pump too. Or if you don't want the methanol and lye the sysem would be $500. for the appleseed and wash tank.

Tome it looks like most expensive part will be heater and plumbing

phatbulldog 08-20-2006 06:42 AM

I'm just gonna keep it, was thinking that's just more work when I try to start up again. Actually I think I'm gonna takes some barrels out today. But if anyone is in the Sebring area I'll be glad to show you how to make it.
