found truck

I was on a service call just east of regina a couple of weeks ago, fixing a farmers tractor. when I spotted a late 70's f-150. It looked in pretty good shape, but I was 300 feet away. I asked the young guy wooking there if it was for sale. He did not know, and the owner of the farm was on holidays. Just this past week the owner of the farm tracked me down at work and said the truck was for sale. It belongs to his son-in-law and he has no time to drive it or work on it. The truck is a 1979 f-150 xlt lariet, red in color with 460 auto, it also has factory air. I took a look at it yesterday, it has some rust around the rear fenders and the cab corners are just starting to blister. The body is very straight with no dents. It runs and drives and has a set of new tires. The late 70's trucks are my favorite style and I would love to replace the 1978 I had years ago, he only wants $1,500 but I still have to convice my Wife. We just built a new deck, so funds are a little tight right now.

Sounds like an awsome truck, I am sure you wont have any trouble convincing the wife when you explain what a great value it would be.

Sounds like a nice one, decent ones getting harder to come by. Possibly you may get it for alittle less. Keep us posted.
Where in Sask. are you from?

1500 bucks wow, that sounds awesome! Especially with a 460 and factory a/c!

That sounds like a food deal. I paid $2500. for my 78 and it needs some TLC on the rust. But I sure glad to have it. One of these winetrs I hope to do a project of the rust and have it look new again.

Ya! I Think i'm going to take the truck! The owner had got it running when I was out there to look at it, but the automatic choke was stuck so it wouldn't stay running. He said he would get it going and call me so I could take it for a drive.I will keep you posted.

preppypyro 08-14-2006 07:59 PM
