Fuel filter Direction reveversed?!!!

Hi all, My friend thinks the filter in his truck is reversed, can not see the tuck, does this affect the truck? and in what way?

I am not sure if he can do that.

Can you help us on this please

Sorry I meant reversed, meaning the arrow pointing the wrong direction.

wildcard30 07-11-2006 10:52 AM

Which direction is the arrow pointing, toward the front of truck or the rear?

DJR 17 07-11-2006 05:29 PM

I didn't think they are reversible..

Toward the tank. Does it cause any problem?

I would THINK that IF it ran it would run not very well. But, that's just me. I have never put one on backwards so I don't know.

To get the filter off you have to insert these little plastic circular clips into the fuel filter to release the hose. R/r replace and repair??

Okay I think I got it, roder = order and if you looking to get the clip you can go to Advanced Auto Parts, or probably any auto parts store, and your looking for a Ford fuel line disconnect tool. The F150 is a 5/16" disconnect, the one I have is made by AMPRO and is red in color. Cost maybe $5, I purchased it a long time ago so I don't remember the exact cost.

Good luck to ya 2004f1504X4!
