"How much should I pay for --- xxxx"

Numerous threads ask this question. Up until now, I've always referred people to www.carsdirect.com -- still a good resource, but I ran across a "Consumer Reports" pricing tool that looks like it answers all these questions. The only hook is that it costs $14.00 to run a report -- at least the first one. I ran a report today for a F150 Supercrew and was pleased with the result -- the report includes dealer holdbacks and other dealer incentives. Don't know if it's dead accurate or not since I haven't used it yet, but I plan to.

If your interested in "Consumer Reports" version of the answer to that question, start here: http://www.consumerreports.org/main/newaps/aps_home.jsp<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 width=136 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD colSpan=2 height=17>

</TD></TR><TR><TD colSpan=2 height=17>

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

It's always good to do your research. Comsumer Reports is one of the best places to get pricing info. It's just a shame you have to pay for using it.

What kinda info is it that this report gives? Im assuming that this is for used vehicles?

i agree. you would think that the cost would be coming out of the pockets of the car manufactors. after all its their products that are being sold.

Both new and used ---- it doesn't cost anything to click on the link --- there's a decent explanation of what you get.
