2.3 common oil leak?

so i have this 2.3 turbo motor i pulled out of an 88 tbird and put in my ranger (im used to big V8's), i just got it crankin over and runnin and it seems to leak oil im guessing somewhere in the timing gear area?...im wondering if it is the front main seal but it is kind of hard to tell...i know the little 2.0 that was in it leaked oil too and it also got shot all over the engine compartment from the belt...

im wondering if there is a typical leak that springs in these little 4 bangers....

I'd look at the front main seal and the cam seal, but you might also check the turbo oil supply line.

The 2.3 front crank seal in held in a cover. Most don't know this, but you have to center the seal by moving the seal holder before tighten it down.

It is also common for the cam gear bolt to leak. Use lok-tite. http://campaigns.ford-trucks.net/for...cons/icon7.gif jd
