single to dual wheel conversion
 

I own a '91 F-250 longbed, diesel, 4 X 4. A friend of mine is going to build be a flatbed and I want to convert my single rear wheels to dual rear wheels. I have not had much luck so far in finding options for ordering the adapters. I don't need fenders as I will be putting a flatbed on. Thanks for any information on where to find these adapters.

imo, You are ahead of the game just swapping in a true DRW axle.

Just be carefull if you decide to go the adapter route. Most of them are for cosmetic purposes and will not hold up to everyday abuse such as a DRW axle would.

I Just Installed A Set Of Adapters On My 88 F-350 From Arrowcraft Industries That I Bought From Coutu Truck Parts In Ct. They Are Machined Steel That Fit Tight To The Hub And Use The Original Wheel Studs To Hold The Adapter On And Have The New Style Studs With The Flat Washer Wheel Nuts To Hold The Wheels On. Problem With Drw Axle Is The Spring Perches Are Closer Together Because The Frames Are Narrower

Another note that most people are not aware of is that the Drw axle in a dually pickup is wider than the axle in a cab chassis. Thats why a lot of company's buy a dually pickup and remove the bed then install a body of their choosing.

I'd go with the dwr axle for the added payload
