[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Feb-02 AT 01:17 AM (EST)]This site is mostly 61-66 crew cabs, but there others if you look around and there might be something you can use (also a sweet 65 4x4) http://www.home.earthlink.net/~jcpurut/crewcabs/crewcab.html
I have a 65 crew cab, they are hard to find, I also have a 67 and a 72 F-250, the 72 is going on a 76 highboy frame. I would like to see some pics of yours sometime. John

I have a 68 Mercury crew with an 8 foot bed. As soon as I got it one of my first plans for it was to switch it over to 4wd. I have an 72 F250 4wd, so I figured I'd have everything I need other than the rear driveshaft. After posting a question on the board here about it I got quite a few replies telling me the frames are not the same, and a quick trip outside confirmed it. The 2wd frame and the 4wd frame are not the same widths. After a lot of searching it seems the 8' bed crews are pretty rare and the 8' bed 4wds crews are really rare!

Correct me if I'm wrong

But I think ford never made a F-350 4x4 Crew with a 8ft bed???
I thought all crews had a 6 ft bed in 4x4

Someone had a post on here once that Ford had made some 8' beds on the 4x4s for government use, like the Forest Service. I think it also said the railroad had ordered some. Seems to me someone on here in Virgina just came across one and purchased it for $600!

I also have been told that the frames are differant widths but mine is the same both inside and outside widths,as my 1970 f-250. I don't know if it is because it is an f-350 crew cab or what.I have been looking for an f-250 crew 4x4 with an 8 foot bed for a long time and have only seen one.and I don't know if it was factory or converted.the other thing I don't understand is if the frame is smaller in width then why couldn't you just move the leaf springs closer together? also in looking at the two frames all the holes for the springs and transfer case are in the same placeson both frames.I wonder if this frame was intended to be a 4x4?I am still going to go for the swap. still let me know what you guys think.
