College finals are over!!!...for now

I just got out of my Cal. 2 final. It took me 2 hours and 35 minutes to complete it. I am so tuckered-out now it's rediculous. :-D The good news is I'm done with finals. More good news consists of my getting to work for the summer.
So anyways I was wondering what all ya'll think I should upgrade on my truck performance wise. I am looking at spending no more than $500. I have pretty much narrowed it down to either a 75mm throttle body, a set of Heddman long headers, or(my least fav.) a cheap bottle of nitrous to add around 30-50hp. I would really like to change the rear diff. gearing to a 4.10 but that's around $800.
So tell me what you think and why. Your opinions mean a lot, and are greatly appreciated.:-X25

Congrats on finishing the finals! I remember those days VERY well even though it was 20 years ago.
I look back with fond memories. I really enjoyed college and would love to take some more classes but life doesn't allow it right now.
I like the "pure sciences" best: calculus, physics, statics, dynamics, thermo, etc.
Stuff where an instructor's opinions, and/or personal assessment mean less than emperical data. +
2+2=4. No judgement or opinion.
That kind of stuff.
But, that's just me.

Anyways, about your truck.....
I think (stress THINK) I have heard over the years here, mixed reviews of the throttle body upgrade. But, that has all been in the 4.2 V6 forum. Honestly, I just don't know how much bang for the buck you get with the 4.6 V8 and an aftermarket throttle body.

For me, I'd probably go with the nitrous. There when you want it and a fairly inexpensive HP toy that I don't think leads to harm IF handled with some restraint.

Do you currently have any aftermarket performance related add-ons?

Check back and let us (well, looks like it might just be ME) know what you do.

Thanks, I will say that I agree with you. I like maths and sciences, but calculus I'm beginning to hate. When 0! = 1, and when 0 X infinity is undefined I get a little aggrevated.
I've heard good things for the throttle bodies on the 4.6L on here. My main turnoff from the nitrous is the fact that it can hurt, but according to what I've read I can add 150hp nos without adding any extra components.
Engine performance mods thus far: K&N air filter, Hypertech Power Programmer, and straight pipe exhaust from the cats back(true duals).

i would try the headers...but look into flowtech. thats what i have on my 86. they are cheaper and work just as good. you will probably have money left over after that even. u could prolly look into a flowmaster exhaust system too. just MO.

nevermind...i just read u had a straight pipe exhaust...lol

I don't know how much cheaper I could get in headers. The heddman headers for my truck are only $279; but none the less I will check them out right now.
