Heh, I know quite a bit about the Avro Arrow. I actually fly R/C airplanes or I did when I was younger, I'm just starting to get back into it this year. Ever gone to Trenton air base for the air shows?

The Town of Rocky Mountain House about 40 minutes from me has proposed a new community for their area.
They have an old air strip and they want to build high end homes along each side of for private air plane owners or Pilots of private corporate planes.

Just think ! fly in and park the plane on your apron in your yard :)

Only makes sense to do that , they have been putting boats in backyards for a long time ,

I wish someone would do that for racers , put up a bunch of new homes around a 1/4 mile drag strip , I use to love waking up at cayuga and hearing the guys and gals working on their cars.

The AVRO (same guys as the ARROW) Lancaster had a bigger payload capacity than the beloved B-17. At last count, there were only 2 (two) Lancasters flying in the world and one lives just outside of Hamilton,

I love planes....particularily those with piston engines. You can't beat the sound of a big airplane engine.

I've seen it. If it's not the one it was another DC3 for sure.

I don't really recall seeing it last year & I'm sure I haven't this year but I could always hear that bird coming every time because there's nothing else that sounds like big twin radials.

Ya it's be a few years since I've seen it. The sound is what first attracted me to old warbirds and other old planes.

I've now spent an hour looking through the pictures on the Warbird Alley page. Anyone ever been to the Hamilton International Airshow? It's a great show and maybe someday I'll make it back.

I noticed this week that the Harvards across the road from my parents' farm are back in the air. Seems they fly them 2-3 times per week, they sound pretty cool, especially when they buzz the (grass) landing strip.

I got most of my oove of airplanes from the stories my dad told me about the war.

He was an aircraft mechanic servicing the:Lancaster,Halifax,& Spitfire.

During WW II he carved out a model of a spitfire from a piece of spitfire propellor.

I played with it as a child until I broke the prop on it.
