DOVE Heads 429
 

How much is a 429 engine with DOVE-C heads worth? I have read that the DOVE heads are good. Thinking of purchasing this car to build a drag car. It runs and is in a 1975 mustang II cobra. Has posi ford 9" rear end with C6 tranny.

Depends on the condition of the engine, if its a good runner maybe anywhere from $500 to $1'500 US, if it needs a rebuild i would guess a few hundred dollars, thats my opinion from what i have seen 460ci engines sell for on ebay.com. hope this helps. Jamie. Australia.

DOVE heads are worth what somebody will pay for them which is usually way over what they are actually worth. DOVE heads have a big reputation but they don't flow any better than the later model heads the biggest thing is they have smaller combustion chambers so the compression is higher, and thats about thier only advantage.
