IDEA: "Ranger Rally"
 
Suppose for the sake of it that we had a bunch of Ranger owners in same local areas that all tanked up their trucks at the beginning of a fixed course where at certain parts of it you picked up a "Waypoint Card" that proved you were there, and at the end your tank was refilled with a contest judge standing by, and the best mileage was the criteria for first place, second, etc...

Whatcha think?

My Ranger probably pushes 9MPG, her Bronco II ain't worth mentioning, gotta get the plugs changed after we get the a-hole thing back, flywheel broke loose and chewed up the torque converter.

It's a real Ranger, a 78 4x4 with 351 modified fed by a 4 barrel.

I miss the old days...

The folks got P'd-O because gas went up over 49 cents a gallon, Bob Hope wanted us to put a "Tiger in our Tanks", and Walt Disney actually ran Disney Land.

Our auto manufactures boast about the renewable fuel E-85, ethanol as if it's a new invention, but it's been around since the 70's, many ran it in their carbed trucks, took no modifications to run it, but todays vehicles can't unless built for it. Amazing that it takes gas price increase to MAKE companies look into a fuel source that's been around for some time. What gets me, E-85 is 85% ethanol, only 15% gasoline, but costs more, until they start gouging and climb over it. I thin it to run in my 99 E-350, the store owner freaks, always reminds me it's not a regular pump, I have my ECM tuned, so the 100+ octane shouldn't bother me.
