It's been suggested that a regular day each month be chosen as a regular G2G day...

This was put out there by the group that met in Atoka last weekend.
<HR style="COLOR: #666666" SIZE=1>Now, this can be the first saturday of the month, and the location left wide open for several G2G's in various parts of a state or province to take place.

I kind of like that idea, as opposed to one big central meet that not everyone can blow the fuel money to get to - and yet it is still a designated day of the month that is KNOWN so that a G2G (or several of them) can be expected and planned for...

The same member put out the suggestion to post it as: "Show up, or don't show up. But if you don't show, NO WHINING..."

Is that a realistic outlook for G2G's? Things always come up at the last minute, I know. But if we want to make things happen it ought to begin somewhere...

I'm looking for some inputs here to make meets possible in the easiest possible way.

yea, it would be kind of convient (in my opinion) if everyone expected about what time of the month or so a G2G would occur.

as far as where....mmm....i wonder how far a majority of memebers can reasonbly drive? i can drive clear across the state on any given day, but some members can't do that for various reasons.

maybe have a G2G one time in the east, then middle, then west, and announce it early so people can plan and attend!

my wife and i are always looking for reasons to get out of the house when we can!

Another club used to do middle TN for events because it's equal drive for the east and west members.
The Smokey Mountains make a terrific back drop for a meet, great for pictures, there is also a campground. I hope to either make the rod run, F-100 Nationals, or both, I plan to haul the F-150 to east TN to attend.
I was hoping to get a cleanup event going for the Cedars of Lebanon state park, gain brownie points with the guys running it to give us some perks, they have a campground, cabins, pool, playgrounds, events, pavilion's etc.
Franklin has a massive civil war reenactment in TN, can't recall when it is.

westtntrucker, Lariat97, and alabamabuddog all were in favor of a central TN meet for the next one.

I'm figuring logistics on that personally. It sure would be great to do a highway run, even if my fuel budget is marginal...

Near as I can tell I need to set aside fifty bucks for the purpose, be around three and some hours each way if we held it in Murfreesboro or thereabouts.

It sure would let me know what kind of highway mileage I can get with the new wheels!

Need to find a spot in Nashville, it's central, about equal to both sides, Bass Pro Shop is in Opry Mills, the mall that took the place of Opryland, there is a park or two also. Opry Mills is not friendly to those who want to hang out in the parkinglot, mall police will harass you, but there is an eating area inside full of tables to gather.

Got to remember my camera this time!

Are there any holidays or other events around the first weekend in april that might complicate things? Or should we slide it to the weekend after the fifteenth?

I like a monthly meet idea. Nashville would be a good place for the next one. Its only about 2&1/2 hrs for me. We could meet at one of the lakes around Nashville & cookout.

Good grief, for a second I thought you were saying it was twenty eight and a half hours... :-huh

I got a big smoker grill, 2 coleman stoves, we could definately setup to cook a real meal.
