I wanna know who ordered this snow that is coming in

and make them ride with me in the semi tonight. well atleast I always go east in the morning but when I get back my partner has to take the truck to nebraska and thats not a good thing either from what I see.

Not to get too bad around here, in the eastern part, may 3-5" with 34 as the northern border. Now out west, it's not quite as nice... It is still March, and always seem to have that one storm in April...

monsterbaby 03-19-2006 01:50 PM

right now we are under a winter storm watch and according to the national weather service site could ba as much as 10" of snow by tomorrow night, guess I am lucky in that I have the eastern half of our run so not as bad.

fellro86 03-19-2006 02:01 PM

yeah, it is slanted from SD to southern Mo, western Iowa is likely to be well worse than eastern Iowa. here in the NE corner, I'm not quite into the watch area at all.

Pierre is on the edge down toward Mitchell Yankton. I-90 from Rapid City to Chamberlain is closed.

Up to 18" forecasted for parts.

fellro86 03-19-2006 04:01 PM

Well, just got put under the watch now too...

monsterbaby 03-19-2006 04:05 PM

yep looks like all of northern MO is now included in the watch.

fellro86 03-19-2006 04:14 PM

Kinda looks like you would drive out of the watch area about Fairfield. Only saying 4" for us...

Our weather says look for 3-6 inches Monday night with more to follow on Tuesday morning, but should all be melted on Wednesday.

And I have a feeling this was a case of back-ordered snow.

Flareside94 03-19-2006 11:00 PM

Actually, we have a Winter Weather Warning now. The western 2/3rds of hte bottom tier or so of counties will get pounded most likely. and *I* have to work all day. Pah!

Flareside94 03-21-2006 04:51 AM

Wow, that was reallly a lackluster showing of snow. It's still going, but probably not for long. Either way, congrats - you didn't get too much snow Rob!

West of DM we have just under 2" total. REAL slow drive into work as I-80 was pretty much a thin layer of packed snow. I saw a woman in the ditch - looked like she had a little too much faith in her little 4WD and slid off the road.

I was going to stop - she could have driven out of the median (or I could have), but there was no where to pull over and I could she she was on the cell calling for help.

Also saw another in the ditch and a third getting pulled out.

They cancelled school here, although I'm not sure why. We did get close to 5 inches and it has been blowing, but I've seen a lot worse.

Anyway, my wife is already to work and my boss doesn't care too much if I'm there or not since we'll be short on customers, so I've stayed home with the boys. Big Fun!

Flareside94 03-21-2006 12:50 PM

We've gotten less then 4" total here in Centerville. Getting to work this morning was kinda tricky on a couple decline's where the slush didn't want to let me stop. But, that's life.
