How to remove r134a?

I am trying to figure out how to remove the r134 in my explorer without venting it to atmosphere. The engine is blown, so I can't drive it to a mechanics shop. I was thinking that I could use a manifold gauge set and some sort of container, but I don't know. Can anyone help? Thanks.

i don't mess with it. just unbolt the compressor from the engine, and wire it off to the side out of the way. when you get the engine rebuilt, you will not have to recharge the ac this way.

Im not sure if I can do that on the explorer, but I'll definitely double check.
Thanks

any and all ac shops have the recovery and recycle machines.
most will recover it free.
and its about $25-$35 to evac and charge plus freon.

I couldn't take it to a shop due to the blown engine, but I got the engine out last night with the A/C still in the truck so it worked out well....
THANKS!!!
