Expedition Power

Hey, is the acceleration going to be improved anymore on the new model with a 6 speed? Whats the difference?

Monsta 02-06-2006 01:39 PM

I don't think the ratios of the tranny have been posted anywhere. That would help in at least guessing as to its performance.

I dont think so I have driven the 05 Navigator which has this trans already and it feels about the same just smoother than the 4 speed and MPG is worse in the nav, buy 1 mpg.

the 05 navi has the old 6 speed. this new 6 speed will replace both the lincoln 6 speed and the ford 4 speed.

Expy XL + 5.4L = T-O-A-D

Doesn't matter what transmission Ford uses.

The Spec's are posted here on FTE first gear is 4.17 to 1 that should help get this beast moving pretty good for it's weight.

Not like Chevy Suburban does any better.

Rumor...

Has it that Ford "may" adapt Super Duty Engines to the Extended version...

Let's pray they do!

Electro 02-23-2006 09:43 PM

Hope not, I'd hate to see them all in the shop

Mud Doc 02-25-2006 12:26 AM

I was kind of hoping for the 300 6 with 4.56 gears and 2-speed axle.

Wow...your vast knowledge, and repetetive posting makes me feel warm inside.

4.17:1 1st will definately see an improvement in performance...even if only subtle.
