Putco Chrome Handles Gone Bad

So, I put them on my 2005 Screw in July. They look terrible. All of them have pitted, and this weekend, I now see some have wrinkles in the chrome. What's this all about? Anybody else have this problem? Any luck getting new ones?

I have the putco tailgate handle cover. It pretty much looks like crap. Granted mine are 2 years old. Full of bubbles and pitting. This spring I will be removing it. I have the TFP stainless chromed covers for the doors and they still look like the day they were new. At the time of purchase, the tailgate was not available.

Take a look in my gallery to see the TFP chromed stainless steel.

Sounds typical of aftermarket chrome.

The TFP stainless is most likely buffed, not chromed, esp. since it still looks good. Two reasons it's not chromed: it's very difficult to get plating to stick reliably to SS, and it's a waste of time and materials because it can look like chrome without plating it.

The putco handles are made of ABS plastic. So it is a shiny plastic finish.
