Biodiesel / WVO waste

Where would I find infomation about the residuals of the processing for both fuels. I'm attempting to gather information to put together a proposal for usage on a local, county, or even a state level (maybe down the road).
I've read about the processing for both fuels but would like to find more information about waste and disposal options.

I dont think there is much by-product from use of WVO except the chunks of stuff you strain out of it

Producing Bio-Diesel also produces glycerol (the alcohol form of glycerin).
There has been much written about how to get rid of it ranging from "burn it" to "sell it to a soap maker" (glycerin is a major component in bars of soap)

Once again I refer to an excellent biodiesel forum http://www.biodieselcommunity.org/mainpage/
you will find answers there.

From what I'm averaging, for every 200 gallons of WVO, I have 5 gallons of waste; in the form of water/food chunks.

I throw it in a compost pile.

Some take the leftover sludge and mix it with sawdust then put it in a milk carton and use it for a little extra heat for campfires.

I don't do Biodiesel, but I hear some taking it using the glycerin as a good degreaser, make soaps or sell it off to others that probably make soap out of it.

Have any of you tried the "diesel secret" type of WVO and if so how did it work??

rcdallas 12-30-2005 06:54 PM

I've seen this question asked many times about the Diesel Secret, I have not seen one reply of someone who has actually used it.

My personal thought is just another miracle in a bottle, some refer to as snake oil.

Though as said I've never touched it, so for now it's speculation.

Now running your diesel on 100% veggie, it works, and works well.

Since you in Monroe I will just come & buy from you!!! LOL. Im interested in learning on how to run WVO any good places to read or get paperwork on how to??

Couple of things to keep in mind: It's a way of life; you need to have a good reason besides cost to justify getting into burning WVO/SVO.

Here's some good sites:

Finding info on how to run WVO in a vehicle is available on many web sites. We recommend a book from a guy names Ray Holan. It's called Sliding Home. It’s in its fourth edition so it is pretty current. Its 27 chapters of very good info. It even gives the major kit builders an opportunity to explain their systems.
You can find a link to purchase this on my web site by following the link to plant drive whom I'm a dealer for
