New Gen 1 Lightning owner

Hey. I've been on the boards a while with a 97 F250HD 4X4 but that left about a year ago and I just purchased a 1994 Lightning with a lot of mods done to it already but have a ton of questions for those that know. I've owned plenty of Ford trucks and a few Mustangs just never a combination of the two found in the Lightning.
The mods on the truck include a Paxton SN93, SVO heads, MSD 6AL, MSD boost timing master, Mallory promaster coil and a Pro Flow mass air induction. Having a bit of trouble with it running rich and throwing codes 41 and 91 so I have some tracking down to do. Just wanted to say hi in this new section for me.

I'm guessing that you're also running an FMU. If it's the disc type, then you can simply change to a smaller ratio and it will lean it up a bit. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you have a way to monitor your A/F ratios.

Congrats on the purchase! I've owned my white 94 since 96 and I love it...enjoy!

Thanks guys. Where would be the best place for info on the discs since I have no paperwork? I'm sure there is probably a chart that says what disc should be in it for which application I just don't know where.

You could go to Paxton's website to look for that info. Their FMU's look a lot like the Vortech units, so it's just a matter of removing the screws and cover. The ratio may be on the disc somewhere. If not, then you'll have to get some measurement info to determine what discs you have...possibly from their website or a dealer.

I went to Paxtons site unfortunately although they list sizes they don't tell you how to determine which one you need. Since I have no operators manual I'm flying blind when it comes to the supercharger.

Your fuel pressure and A/F ratios will help determine which calibration do use. 11.6-11.8 is pretty safe, but you'll need to get a wideband or put it on a dyno. Another option is to ditch that FMU and get an adjustable like a Vortech Super FMU or Cartech...both are very nice pieces.
