Engine Identification
I bet you guys love the vin questions! I have a 1977 f150 custom and I need to replace the motor. I believe the motor is a 351M but I'm not 100% sure. I have the vin (f14heyc1212) and the casting number on the block (d7tea3b-6h28). I got this truck from a junk yard so I know almost nothing about it. I don't know if the vin is complete (no title). The motor in the truck is a small block. The water inlet is on the block not the intake and there is an M stamped on the drivers side head. I also need a line on a reman long block if anybody knows where to get one. Thanks for the help.

well the Small block term is a chevy thing. you have a 351m/400 i would install a 400 for more power. same as a 351m but with a different crank. i buy my reman engines from www.rebuilt-auto-car-engines.com

it is 1,137.00 http://www.rebuilt-auto-car-engines....for-351clb.jpg

I welcome both of you to the site :)
There so little info on a VIN # it doesn't fascinate me. I am more interested in the rating plate on the door :) H stands for 351M The M stamped on the part is the plant stamp. It was cast at the Michigan Plant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ cbk584aa c60 k Most plant numbers. What colour is the sticker ? Do you have a pic ? |
