'79 F250 4x4 400 four speed dana 60/704 inch lift and 38's, '75 bronco 302 C4 4 inch lift and 33's. Osceola, WI I joined the Minnesota forum since I'm so close to the cities and originally from MN. FYI - I'm a member of the Minnesota Go-4 Wheelers, so if anyone has questions about Memorial Total Off Road Rally on Memorial weekend, let me know.

countryF150 01-09-2006 09:09 PM

Lowboy, does your 79' have a dana 40 front end?? I have a 79' with a 400 and 6" lift and was thinking about tires. People were saying 37's is about all i would want to get on the front end.
country

lowboy250 01-09-2006 09:24 PM

My '79 has a 60 front and a dana 70 rear. Hhould have put a space between the 0 and the 4. The rear is out of a '83 F350 4x4 Diesel. How hard do you wheel your truck, and do you have a locker in the front? If you have a locker in the front, I wouldn't go above 35's if you wheel a little and have stock shafts. If you are easy on it, I've seen as big as 39's on a 44 front, not that I would suggest it. FYI- I ran 38's on my truck with the 4 inch lift with the 60, wheeled it hard and never broke a front axle shaft. The 38's also fit with only minor trimming on the front corner of the front fenders.

minnesota4x4 01-13-2006 05:19 PM

Brian from Cannon Falls. I've got a 1995 F150SC 4x4 that is in the process of a frame-off restoration. Replacing the stock 5.0 with a built-up 5.8. Started the project in October and hope to have it back on the road by March. Almost everything is getting painted, upgraded or replaced. I have found this web site very helpful with my restoration.

fordtruckfan90 01-17-2006 02:28 PM

Thats awesome, someone restoring a pre 97 f-150! Hope it turns out well!

MSU is a good school. I attended for a semester in the Mechanical Engineering department. I am finishing up at the UofM.

Peter94 02-06-2006 12:48 AM

Wow, just got the tour of MSU, and i cant wait. We got to stand in the room with the chassis dyno, and they showed us all the CNC's and milling machines and some of the projects they are doing. Its all pretty cool looking. I'm going to go for Automotive Engineering Technology major, and i guess you automatically get a Manufacturing Technology minor with it. Sounds like fun to me.

countryF150 02-06-2006 01:57 AM

Yeah, we're doin a bridge design for a competition with all the surounding universities UM, UMD, Iowa, NDSU, UND, SDS, for civil engineering and we've been in the lab usin the mills and plasma, tig, and mig so i've spent a fair share of time in the ETL.
