starting problem-fuel?

93 F150 6cyl... The engine starts most of the time but, it has a tendency to not always start. The engine starts normally after being shut off for an extended period of time(over night). After driving a few miles and turning the engine off, it does not start! The engine turns over but it seems that it has no fuel available. After sitting for approx 15-20 minutes, it will start again. The check engine light does light up... the Ford guys tell me that it codes for "lean fuel". The light comes on during a regular drive.
Things I've checked/done:
engine does have spark when it refuses to start
changed the electronic ignition module on the inside fender, spark plugs, cap, wires, rotor, "pick up" inside the distributor, fuel filter and fuel pump.
any thoughts?

Timing may be too far advanced. Does it turn over slow?

edit, guess I should have looked at the date ;)
