Which Transmission Do I Have?

I resently purchase a 96 F-150 with 300-6 and an auto transmission. I am trying to find out which transmission I have. The transmission code on the door is "E". Is there a list anywhere to say which transmission I have

Thanks
Rob

1990/2002 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog sez: E = E4OD or 4R100.

E9TP-7A040-CB is not the trans ID number. It's the ID number for the extension (tailshaft) housing.

E4OD & 4R100: The transmission ID tag is on the drivers side of the case, just behind the manual control lever.

The code may resemble this: F7SP-AA / The model number will resemble: PRA-AA.
