dash gauge pod for 97 F350

I'm having trouble locating a 3 gauge pod that goes on the dash above the radio. I've seen them before. Does anybody know where I can find one? Mine's an OBS truck.

I don't want one above the rear view mirror - too hard to watch and drive at the same time. BTW, the pillar pod will gave EGT, engine temp and boost. I want to have oil pressure, ammeter and maybe a clock on in the dash pod. I had originally thought about a tranny temp gauge, but mine's a manual so it would not be "necessary".... I still ahven't decided on that one yet.

MattB, there is not alot of selection for OBS, pre-'99, gauge pods. The link touchofgrey gave you was for '99 trucks. I've seen pictures of installer "modified" gauge pods above the radio and also to the left of the steering wheel on OBS truck. I believe the dash pod to the left of the steering wheel was a modified Dodge pod on an OBS Ford truck. (sacrilege, LOL) At one time I considered modifing a Dodge center dash mount, but thought the streering wheel would block the view of the gauges. The largest selection of pods I've seen were at ProPod.com and egauges.com. ProPod does not direct sell, but I believe xtremediesel.com, dieselmanor.com and bayareaperformance sell ProPod. It might take a phone call to get them to order what you want. Egauges carries VDO pods. Make sure you get them "angled" the way you want them, since there are pods for left and right of the steering wheel. In my quest, I did not find any dash mounted pods that were made specifically for OBS Ford trucks. Good luck shopping.

Thread moved to proper forum.

OK, I just noticed the forums were split .... that's what happens when you don't visit for awhile.

Thanks, Stroker2. I'll check out your lead. It's kind of a bummer that they build these trucks to last, then you have trouble getting certain aftermarket stuff for the older ones....

Check some of the site's sponsors. I know Geno's Garage carries a few gauge mounts for the OBS trucks back to 92.

Thanks, Cookie. I've decided on using the Isspro Bullet mounts from Geno's for oil pressure and ammeter on the dash over the radio in addition to a 3 gauge pillar pod with EGT, boost & engine temp. I'm going to get Isspro for all the gauges. It oughtta look pretty cool.

That will look very cool. Where are you going to pick up the engine oil temp, or did you mean coolant for engine temp?

MattB_1442 10-06-2005 08:43 AM

Yes, I meant coolant temp.

It WOULD be easy to go for the "cockpit" look, if not for the emptywalletitis that would result - trans temp, diff temp, oil temp, fuel pressure, then I'd have to add on-board air so I could have an air pressure gauge. AND I'd have to replace the tach, speedo and fuel gauges too! LOL

I used universal gauge cups. found thamon line they look good and you can mount them any where each gauge is mounted singaly which I find helpsingettingright where you want it. I'l looks for the site name.. J

That's what credit card are for...buy a lot now, pay a little forever  . At least that's what I've heard, I just suffer along with emptywalletitis as well. :-X21
