Diesel Rumour ... Ford/Land Rover

http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=16902

Read towards the bottom of this article ... it states that "it has been suggested that FORD in conjunction with SINTERCAST, leaders in CGI engineering, are working on an even more powerful 4.4 liter diesel V8. Rumours suggest that this engine could replace the current NAVISTAR V8 used in F250, F350 and eventually find its way into thier popular F150."

Are there any other diesel rumours regarding replacing the 6.0 Powerstroke ... or any other rumours as to finally getting a diesel in the F150. What ever happened to the 4.5 Turbo Diesel V6 ... it is currently being used in the LCF ... wasn't the rumour previously that is would find a home in the Expedition and the F150??? ... and why would they be considering the 4.4 Diesel when the 6.4 is on development for the Super duty trucks???

The 4.4 diesel you mention will be a derivative of the Ford/PSA developed 2.7l V6.
It will be available in XJ Jaguars, and the Range Rover.

I reckon it would be to expensive to be fitted to any other product in Fords lineup.
The 4.5l PSD would make far more sense.

The 4.5 will fit perfectly fine (and may have already been done as a proto-type) in the F150... problem is that it will completey bomb F250 sales if they were to do it. Expect to see (and quote me on this if you feel so) the 4.5 in Navigators and Expeditions in the years to come... but not the beloved F150.
