Pictures of Accident involving new F150 and Chevy 1500: the Ford held up VERY well.

I saw this link on another website and it shows an accident involving a 2004 F-150 and a '98 Chevy 1500 that hit head-on. http://**************.************.c...d_on_collision The Chevy was attempting to overtake another vehicle and struck the F-150 nearly head-on. The driver of the Chevy later perished, however, the driver of the F-150 is in critical, but stable condition in Baltimore. This just goes to show how very well the structure of the new Fords hold up in accidents of any magnitude, from a minor bump-in to an all-out crash. I'm just curious, are the '03+ Expeditions built like the new F-150's because this F-150 withstood this crash with amazing strength. Makes me even more proud to own a Ford. My '03 Expy may use a little more gas than an econo car but, I know that I and my family will be safe in any accident. Chaps to Ford.

link not working at this end. However, I have heard or read that the new expy has the highest crash rating of any full size suv. Not sure of the previous body style, but I'm sure they're pretty damn strong too! Kind of a warm fuzzy feeling isn't it?
And BTW, I love my expy, but don't let the large size and commanding driver position fool you... most of these large suv's cannot handle accident-avoidence manuevers like most cars. These things will tip over pretty easily, so be careful out there!

I see nothing...

ford390gashog 09-25-2005 02:55 AM

the expy is now built on its own frame but has the same construction of the f150. it is made of boxed frame rails and cross tube framing. watch the truth about trucks video on the ford website for more info.

Does the new Expy have the same frame that Toby Keith brags about on TV?

Since the link isn't allowed, I would post the pix myself but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. Tips would be nice so that you guys can see the pictures.

try reposting the link... why is the link xxxxxx'ed out anyway? Top-secret spy stuff? Or re-post the link w/o www. and .com... we're a smart bunch, we can figure it out.

oh my. Oh my. Oh my.

Hollowpoint 09-25-2005 07:41 PM

Oh wow! That is terrible. I have seen bad stuff in my travels, and this ranks right up there with the worst. That cab section on that Chevy didn't retain any of it's shape. That Ford still has the basice shape in the cab section, even if the roof was peeled back by rescue crew. I mean, look at that A-pillar on the Chevy, folded in half. Damn.

Anyone know what the paint marks are on the tires of both trucks?

Freak4Ford 09-25-2005 10:39 PM
