re-setting PCM -'01 4.2
 

has anyone tried pulling the PCM fuse for 5-10 minutes to reset it? i don't see why this wouldn't work, but i've never heard of anyone trying it. If not, are you supposed to pull the positive or negative battery terminal? thanks....paul

It should work, but from what I read everyone just pulls the neg cable off for about five min. if you undo the positive before the neg cable you run a chance of shorting the wrench and causing a spark that is why you do the neg cable. you can touch the body all day with the wrench and it won't spark.

I would leave the battery disconnected for at least 15 min. and turn on the headlights to drain the electrical system. And defenitley pull off the neg. cable as suggested above.
