1964 f100 engine swap

i reciently got my hands on a 1964 f100 it has a 292 y block.my question is what engines will swap as a bolt in. the original engine has a thrown rod and block damage .do you have to go back with a y block or can a fe engine bolt in

An FE engine is not a direct bolt in swap. The mounts are different. with the correct adapters, it is a worthwhile swap.

I put a 390 and 4 speed in my 62, the hardest part was being without my only vehicle while I was doing the work!

ks, Unfortunally no modern engine is a direct bolt up. Another 292 or the 312 found in some cars will work. Those engines are front mount, while modern engines are side mount.

There are conversion kits sold, but you would have to include the tranny in your conversion.

61-64 Engine adapters

I used a Trans/Dapt kit for my 64 a few years ago when I put a 302 & C-4 in it. Looks just like the ones that Carolina sells. They are very easy to install. Really takes the work out of a swap.
Good luck, Phil :-X25
