F150 to F250 conversion

Hi - I have a 78 F150 4x4 SuperCab. I would like to convert the rear end to 3/4 ton, and have 3.50 gears in front. Does anyone know what the highest gear ratio is available for 3/4 ton this age? I know I can't go with too much of a difference between front and back and still be able to use 4WD. Thanx for any and all advice, Tru

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Aug-02 AT 07:20 PM (EST)]ill bet you have a 354 gear in that dana 44 front, and to answer your question, 3.54, so just find a dana 60 with 3.54's and some front 8 lug hubs, rotors and calipers. then youll have a 3/4 ton drivetrain

ford put 3.54's in the front and 3.50's in alot of their f-150's with a 9 inch and 44 front

I have an extra 3.54 ratio Dana 60 8 bolt if you need it. PM me if you are interested.

I beleive the front and rear diffs from a 250 are a direct swap in the supercab. If you can find a matched set junkyard etc. you can go with the 4.10s witch will help with bigger tires or heavy towing also. Im trying to buy a 79 150 sc now and if I get it I plan on swapping the dual 60s out of my 250 when the body is done.
