'96 TFI-IV Timing

I just put a new distributor in my 96 F150 w/302. It is a TFI-IV and there are no timing marks. Any suggestions or tricks on how to set the timing?

You mean it has a TFI ignition controlled by an EECIV system ? Check your underhood emissions sticker, timing data is there.
There must be timing marks on the crankshaft pulley, wipe the side of the pulley clean if there is an oil and dirt buildup on it. There should be a sawtooth shaped bracket next to the crankshaft pulley. That is your indicator. There is a shorting plug that needs to be removed from the wire harness, it is Called the SPOUT connector ( SPark OUT). The SPOUT connector must be temporarly removed to check or set base timing of 10 degrees BTDC.

There is no bracket/indicator. There is no timing data on the emissions sticker. There is a SPOUT plug and it works.
