flexplate issues...
Ok, a while back i blew the motor in my '94 F-150, it was a 5.0. I spent a while looking around until i found another enging to put in it...finall found one it was a 5.0 that came out of a '96 F-150. Here's the problem...everything lines up and bolts together great, no problems whatsoever....until i start it. The weight on the flexplate keeps rubbing up aginst the dust plate, or block plate which ever you prefer, it isn't bent btw. Were the flexplates changed between 94 and 96 or it there something else that could be causing this??? I'm lost as to what the problem is...any help at all...PLEASE...

What trans was in the 94 and what trans was in the 96
first you should have reused the flexplate from your original motor. could it be possible that the flexplate is on backwards?
I don't think you can put a flexplate on backwards because the holes won't line up. I was wondering what trans he had because the flexplate offset is different from a c-6 to an eaod/aod and it takes different backing plates.
I an eaod i'm not real sure what the other truck had my dad went to pick the engine up so i didn't get a chance to see
a c6 and E4od use the same flexplate and in those years the E4od was all there was for an auto.
