Just a small survey, what weight do you haul, what truck, engine, transmission and gear combintation and can you maintain the the speed limit easily or are you in the far right lane with the rigs.
The real chalenge I find is between hope and merritt, just after the snow shed, your honest input would greatly appreciated.
As far my truck is concerned : 1997 f350 4x4 xtra cab, 7.5, 37" tires 5:13 gears, 5spd, banks headers, intake mods, no cat, 3" exhaust, k&n filter, jet chip, bla, bla, bla, loaded with camper, (8.5') 5x10 utility trailer 4 dirt bikes and other gear. Rolling weight 12000 lbs, 120k easily up to the snow shed and down to 90 k after the snow shed for the first 3k, no problem after that.

Haven't pulled the Coq but did the Hope-Princeton Trail at the speed limit up/down, there and back. Ran the predator 40 HP on an F-450 w/4:30 rears, auto. Pulling 15,000# 5'er. Total weight 24,500.

Yanking my 4000lb trailer out of Osoyoos on #3 Eastbound,
with a 429/C6, 2.75's, truck fully loaded with 3 people,I slowed to 68 kph & maintained that right to the top of that 15 mile hill.

Driving the T/C (#1) around the snow sheds to the summit either direction I haven't any problem keeping at 110 Kph...buty the Max speed limit is 55.

The last time,I went to Van via the Coq, I didn't have any problem staying at the Max speed limit.

Me and my wife, in my pickup (02 Ranger 3.0 auto, stock everything, 3.73 rear, 235/75r15 tires. unloaded, out of the snow shed about 100kph - 110kph. Pulling a 1000 pound trailer, I was doing about 80, until some moron pulled out in front of me, and I had to pull over to the right doing 40 all the way up. But honestly, unloaded, my average upper limit is about 140 or 150 from Vancouver to Kamloops. Well, White Rock to Kamloops. I bypass Highway 1 all the way to Abbotsford. Usually takes us 3 hours rather than 3 1/2.

Truck in my signature with 03 Okanagan Camper total weight 11080, I can do more but 140 KL is fast enough up to the snow shed, then after slowing down for the snow shed
I could do 120 Kl up the steep grade and she was slowly building speed.
The V10 loves to rev and I let her do it. She will hit 5000 RPM and upshift on any grade of the Coke. I had an 04 6.0 PSD and with this same camper, the performance is so close you would have to do a side by side race to see. I never dreamed a gas motor would pull the Coke as well as my V10 does. I went to the V10 for reliability and I never expected it to haul the camper as well as my 6.0 PSD did so it was a pleasant surprize. I have 4.10 gears and the Torqueshift Auto and outpulling regular cars with a Camper is a neat feeling. Take care, Wrenchtraveller.

Don't ya just love that hill.....I sit on my back deck and watch the trucks go up and down there everyday......
