New action pics

Hey guys, you should check out my new pics. These were taken out where I used to ride my dirt bike. Mabey this is why I have so many posts on here about broken parts?? haha. I really need to get my wider wheels so i can get my BFG 35's!!!

Pkupman82 07-26-2005 02:23 PM

Nice rig, it will look good with 35s! When are you gonna stop treating that poor old truck like a dirt bike?

Jebadiah04 07-26-2005 06:01 PM

You got alot of Chassis flex...Swiss cheese frame??

jpjahn 07-27-2005 10:08 PM

I've pretty much already stopped treating it like my dirtbike because I realized that it will soon be my only transportation.

What exactly is a swiss cheese frame?

Some good pictures. Looks like the truck handles it well and fun too.

jpjahn 07-27-2005 10:18 PM

Yeah it was a lot of fun.. Right after I put the lift on, I thought that I had wasted my money because i really didn't do too much as far as offroading goes. Then I took the truck out here and did things I didn't think it would do. Oh yeah, and my friend has a chebby, so I told him to see if it could handle it... He ended up breaking off his running boards on the first climb!!

A frame with a bunch of holes drilled into it to make it lighter.

they did it in 80-86 alot.

Crawl under your truck to see if you have like massive holes drilled all the way down from like the door to the rear wheel on the frame.

jpjahn 07-28-2005 08:02 PM

There are a few holes, there are ones mostly near the front, and back, but I thought they were for hooking tow ropes to to get other people out. The holes in front and back are kind of oblong and like an inch tall, and alittle longer wide. other than that, there are just a few small round holes.

Jebadiah04 12-20-2005 10:52 PM

i meant like 8 inch in diameter, lol. its ok tho man, i know you are special.

jpjahn 12-21-2005 12:39 AM

Thanks TAter... Special people have special friends...

Oh BTW, I finally got my 35's on. So I got pics with the tires.

I think the swiss cheese frame ended in 81.5 models.

My 81 F-150 has the swiss cheese frame.

JPJahn: What package does your truck have to have those stripes down the side of your truck? Free Wheeling? Curious :)

Nice truck,

Nice truck,

To tell you the truth, I have no idea what package it has. Do you know how to tell? I am not the original owner, nor do I have any idea who the original owner was, so i'm pretty much finding out this trucks dirty little secrets as I go.

its way too old to have swiss cheese frame, thats just an old truck bending.

looks pretty nice though

Well I don't have a brochure for a 1985, but my 1981 Brochure may help...

http://www.msnusers.com/81f-150/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=8

look at picture #6. The picture shows 1981 Freewheeling packages A and B and the optional stripes that came with it. No doubt changed by 1985, etc... but may be worth a look.
