Panasonic CD Changer in F150

Have 98 Ford F150 and panasonic cd changer. Can't seem to activate the CD Changer through instructions in manual. The previous owner had mentioned something with button "1".
The cd changer seems to work fine but no sound. Thx Bill

is it an fm modulated connection
to your factory head unit?

and if so are you tuned in to the right station?
