I'm getting 2.5 ton axles but I don't know which company to go with. Chucks trucks or USA6x6? I also don't know the width I need to get to maintain a stock look width wise. Which brakes did you go with pinion brake or discs at the wheels? I would ask the companies but they may recomend the more exspensive part just for a sale. I would like to know what you guys use. I know there are a few of you running these axles. Even if you don't have them on the 73-79 ford body an info and suggestions would help. Unless D60 can support a 52" tire and a 20x14 rim

Well, I've got F600 axles on a toyota corolla. www.cardomain.com/id/bigfry page 3 or 4 I think. I think the discs at the wheels would be more legal, and safer, if you broke a shaft, ring gear, pinion, etc. But the pinion brake would have a advantage being able to use the gear reduction. Either one would probably work fine, Most people don't break items on a axle that large being used on a pickup. Even if one end let go, you'd still have the other end to stop you too. Good luck.
