Whats the gas mileage for a V10 Excursion 4x4

Any body with a 2000-2001 V10 4x4 checking their mileage? City? Highway? Thanks.

I have a 00 ex, On the hwy the best I have ever got was a little over 14. Towing ft enclosed trailer with 2 ata 16v's I usually get just under 10, ( 9.7 ) Thats usually going around 80 though. I always have good intentions to stay easy but it never stays that way. Around the city I am getting around 11, A little better if not frequent stopping and going, a little worse in heavy traffic. Hope this helps.

I got 14 on a trip to Las Vegas and back ... lotsa 80 MPH driving though. Typically get 15 hwy, 11 around town, and 11.3 towing a 5,600# car trailer from southeast VA to Carlisle, PA and back (through the Appalachians).

We just took a 1500 mile trip to Florida and we got 16mpg in our 2000 limited 4x4 using regular unleaded gasoline. I was very pleased to get that kind of mileage. It was 99% highway miles at 70mph. We are going back in October but we will be towing our 28ft Travel Trailer. I'm curious as to how much the mileage will drop, we've never towed the trailer that far.

BTW, I usually get around 11.5 to 12mpg around town.

I'm getting 10.3 around town. Haven't really driven it on the hway lately. I do have a Flowmaster Exhaust, and BBK 62mm Throttle body. I actually saw the mileage increase 1 mpg when I drilled the hole in front of air box intake.

V10 Mileage

I have a 2001 V10 Ltd.
Combination Hwy/City mine gets 11mpg. When towing my travel trailer (about 8k lbs), the wife, 5 kids, and a dog, it usually gets about 10.6 hwy.

2005 XLT V10 4x4.

Last tank, the average with some towing (7000 enclosed car trailer) was 8.7 according to "Thirst-O-Meter" overhead, actual calculated 8.9. (I really want to re-label that MPG/Compass Thirst-O-Meter)

This tank so far with all local driving, local towing it is showing 8.3.

I did find that when on the highway, keeping it right around 70MPH (or 2000RPM) is the sweet spot for mileage.

The best I have seen in mixed driving is 11.? with at one point it reading 12.9. This was driving through the Pine Barrens at about 70 with few lights or stops.

I will be towing a considerable distance in about a week and am anxious to see what the MPG will be at constant highway speed.

I have a '03 Ex 4x4 Limited w/ a 6" lift installed.

City: Average around 10 mpg
Highway: Average around 13 mpg

One time we took a trip which was mostly highway miles in a head wind and driving at or just above the speed limit and we averaged 13.4. it was 13. something I just can't recall what. My point is the truck said we were getting 12.7 or something like that. I recall it being almost a mile off. I had topped off the tank and reset the trip odmeter and when we filled up again I did the math myself and that's what I came up with.

14 - 15 on the highway at 65 MPH. Have seen as high as 17. Around town is dismal, depending on traffic lights, etc. About 8- 12 MPG

VelocityDriver 06-30-2005 08:48 AM

12-13 on the highway. 8 towning 10000# boat in 105 heat with A/C running

I get 10 MPG's around town and about 8 towing my 28' enclosed racecar trailer. I got about 13 on the highway. V-10, 4.30 reargears. Seems that the 3.73 managed to get a little more MPG's. But I like the 4.30's better.

Never gotten better than 13.5 HWY and that's with a feather foot doing about 65MPH. Usually get about 12.6 moving at 75 or so.

Pretty much around 10.5 to 11.5 around town.

Both went up by 1.5MPG when I ditched the 35 X 12.5 tires and went to 295 75's. Rides better too.
