Replacement Seats
Hello again. While I'm spending money fixing up the front end, I figured I'd splurge and get rid of the tired front bench seat. I have a question. Can anyone recommend a replacement seat that's pretty comfortable but doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I'd like something that's like the flofit seats, 2 buckets and a center console/seat. (My truck is a regular cab.) I read an article where the service and support for Flowfit isn't real good. I'd like to hear your comments. I want a bolt in, or little fabrication. I don't have the time right now! (Building a garage...)
Thanks and talk to you soon. chris |

The very cheapest you could go is by rebuilding the original, or buying another orig. You may even find a used aftermarket seat cheap.
New seats cost a bout 400-500 dollars for just orig seats |

I guess I should clarify. I'm looking for better than stock bench seat for around $700.

Replacement Seats
Qualtex makes some pretty good seats that should meet what your looking for. Also, Steel Horse makes a nice looking leather seat for Ford trucks '87 or newer for around $800. You can see them both in JC Whitney. There's an outfit that advertises on the net and shows some awesome seats at good prices called Salesco; be real careful, they have problems delivering what was promised and well...there is a web site with testimonials on their service and mine is one of them.

Replacement Seats
Hello everyone. I have located a 60/40 split bench seat out of a wrecked 97 F150 for $200. Does anyone know if Ford changed the seat mounting from the 80-96 series to the 97 ?

If you look in the catalogs (Qualtex, Steel Horse) they specifically list a different seat for '87 and newer, so you can bet that they changed something from at least '87 on.

Replacement Seats
Anyone out there own SteelHorse seats? Summit Racing has SteelHorse truck seats (40/20/40) in grey velour for my 94 F150 for $610 and that includes all hardware and shipping! But I've never seen these seats up close and don't know if they are comfortable. I'm 6'4 and it's hard to find a seat that supports my back without making me feel hunched over.
Any feedback on these seats? Chris R. |

I am assuming you have a 1980-1986 Ford pickup. Any bench seat from 1980-1996 should bolt right up without any other modification. If you want something other than a bench seat, you could check out the 40-20-40 seat found in 1995-1996 Ford trucks. |
Welcome to the site Sears. Like lariat mentioned, you can go to a yard and pull a seat from 80-90's and bolt it in.
Putting in the 90's series into our 80's is starting to get very popular for the are much more comfy and fit our needs! Good luck! |
