Alarm Goes Off when I Unlock with FOB

I recently bought an F-250 XLT with the Advanced Security Group feature.

The truck has a keypad on the door, and a key FOB with
the three standard buttons (Lock, Unlock, Panic).

I have noticed twice now that sometimes when I press
the Unlock button on the FOB, although the doors unlock,
the car alarm goes off. And the only thing that seems to
turn it off is if I start the truck with the key.

It may be coincidence, but the 2 times this has happened
have been cases where I have locked the truck not by the
FOB, but by pressing the last 2 buttons on the door's keypad.

It seems almost as if I am triggering the Panic alarm when
I press the Unlock button on the FOB. That might suggest
just a faulty FOB.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Second question:

Is there a way to lock the truck (other than by just
manually pressing the physical lock down or using the key),
in such a manner as to *not* arm the alarm?
Originally, I had believed that pressing the FOB's Lock button
just once achieved this (locking but not arming), and that
pressing it twice locked and armed. But the text in the manual
suggests that there is no difference in the two actions other
than that pressing it twice causes the horn to chirp in confirmation.
(which seems consistent with the behaviour I see).

I also have the "Advanced Security Group" in my 05 F-250. It is not an alarm! It is only a remote door locker/unlocker. There is no ignition kill and if you open the doors with it "armed" nothing happens.

I've never had my horn start honking when hitting the unlock button, so I can't help you there.

No kind of alarm at all? Does your FOB have a red "panic" button?

I guess I am considering the panic button an alarm.
And if there is no other kind of alarm with this system
(and I am pretty sure there is no tilt alarm), then
what I must be triggering is the panic alarm.

Which still leaves me wondering why this is occurring
when I press the Unlock button on the FOB...

I think there is something wrong with your system. I just tried duplicating your problem on my truck, 05 PSD Lariat, and I cannot get the panic scenario. My FOB has three buttons on it. Unlock, lock and panic.

I do have a red panic button, but I've never had the horn go off when pushing either the lock or unlock buttons (except for the chirp when hitting the lock button twice). I was really pissed when I found out that the "Advanced Security Group" wasn't an alarm. I ended up wiring in my own kill switch.
