Oil quantity and type

Hello,

How many quarts of oil go into a 04 Lightning? I will be changing the filter also. Also, with 10K miles on it, is it OK to run synthetic?

Thanks,
Jasper

5w20
6 quarts
synthetic is fine, the oem Motorcraft oil is semi-synthetic.
Always change your filter with your oil:-X22

5w20? dont you mean 30

yeah it 5w-20, and it seems to use/make more noise when using synethetic. Yuor call, I stuck with 5w-20 Multiblend.

Jasper- Yes, 6 quarts. Some recommend a bit less to lessen the PCV/intercooler from sucking it up. Yes, synthetic is fine.

Thanks for the reply's.

I changed the oil and filter, added six quarts, but it was coming up shy of full on the dip stick after running it and then letting it set. 6.5 put the dip stick to full. I am running Mobil 1 (full synthetic) 0W-40 (european spec).
