F250 Mpg

Did a search, but no specific info found!
I would like to know what MPG's (average) you are getting with your F250 gas or Diesel

Oops, sorry posted in wrong place, moderator please move!

I have a 97 F250 Crew Cab(7.5L Gas/Auto) with 73k on it. I have only had the truck a few weeks. Get about 9 in town, Put in a K&N Air Filter, got 13 mpg in a mix of surface streets and freeway. We shall see if this filter is really doing the trick.

11.9/12.8 in my ride v10 02 250

n578md 05-16-2005 11:45 PM

9-12 towing 8K-10.5K
12-14 short trip/lots of idling
15-16 city
20 hwy
My last trip, (490 miles/24 gallons) I got 20.4 mpg.
No, really, it really does. No Lie-O-Meter™ on an XL. Mileage is about 6-8 mpg worse when my wife fills it up with diesel.

It's a 2003 traditional cab (my Korean neighbor calls it that. It's flied lice, you plick.), 2wd, 5.4L gas V8, 3.73 and 6-speed manual. It's not much, but we like it.

Unless the old air filter was completely caked over to the point of seriously restricting air flow, there's no way the K&N would make that kind of difference. Must be driving style changes or yet some other changes you've done.

I have a stock 2002 F-250 SD CC SB 5.4L auto with 285/75 tires and 86K on it. I typically get 13 mpg combined, but just got 15.4mpg on a tank of all freeway driving in a trip to L.A. and back running 87 octane.
