Good News!

I couldn't sell my truck. I advertised it for 3 weeks and had exactly 3 people test drive it and about 300 people call and say they were coming but never showed up. I decided to just give it to my 16 year old son. I'd rather keep it in the family than lose money selling it for less than it's worth. Besides, it made him happy.

The people that did test drive it all liked the truck, but it made a weird sound over 35mph. I told them the tires weren't balanced, but it could be the transmission (got to be honest). Today we jacked the rear end up so we could put it in drive without moving the front end and, lo and behold, it was indeed just the front tires making all the noise. Good news for my son. He's getting a job this summer so he can pay for insurance and fixing up his truck. :-X06

YAY, now we have a second generation FTEr in our midst!!!!

RomerB2 05-03-2005 12:02 AM

What kind of truck is it?

OKMIC1 05-03-2005 10:29 PM

It's a '76 Ranger XLT with a 390 and C6. The funny thing is that I'm putting more into fixing it up since we decided to give it to the kid. I'm waiting on a heater switch in the mail this week. Hopefully we can get the AC going this weekend.

Lucky kid.. are you gonna fix it up and make it really pretty, or is it already that way?

Pics!!! Pics!!! We Need Pics!!!!

It's a nice looking truck, but it needs a little work. Thankfully, nothing major. It's a regular cab with brown and tan paint. He wants to restore it, I want to hot rod it, but he's paying for it either way. It'll be a good chance to spend some time together.

Sorry, I can't post pics. I need to get a photobucket account someday.

If it's pics of your truck you can put it on FTE under your gallery.

Thanks, I forgot about the galleries. I put some pictures of the truck, my old '78 (RIP) and my money pit Explorer 4x4 in my gallery. I'll try to get some better shots of the '76 tomorrow if it's not raining.

Not supposed to be any rain, just partly cloudy and no clouds for the rest of the week ;) I can't wait to see the '76.
