Van body styles

Hopefully an easy question. I have an 86 Econoline and I was wondering what years carried the same basic body style. ie for what years can the fenders doors etc, interchange.

from 1975 to 1991. 1974 was the last year of the semi-flat front ends, and 1992 was the first year of the "AERO" style.

Drove van based ambulances (ALL FORDS) from 1976 to 1989. Best one I drove was an '85 E-350 hightop with 460. Only problem I really had was damned CO leaked in thru the rear door hinges. (No gaskets or seals.) Broke out tube of white silicone caulk and CO intrusion disappeared. Tested with meter before and after. Also a 6" long chrome down turn exhaust extension helped get the exhaust away from the bottom of the van.

We put boat ventilation scoops on hoods (2 per) backwards and this helped with heat in engine compartment. this was when ford was doing re-calls on ambulances for fuel system problems...

Wrapped the fuel lines in A/C unit insulation tape and vapor locks and boil overs ended or were greatly diminished. (Gray goopy stuff comes in roll like tape) Run all the way from the carb down to the fuel pump and then back as far as you can get past the converters/ mufflers.

Most parts interchanged as long as they were same rating (e-250 to e-250, 350 to 350)..
