I don't have the 1960 book, but my 1956 book says 0.028" to 0.032" for all models. I have seen the gap listed as high as 0.035" on some web sites like this one Edsel Web Site. I suspect it's not terribly critical, but I am not a motor-head. :)

every book i have seen in 30 years says .025.

My book also says .025 if you use a dwell meter that speck is 35-38 deg

You can all strike me repeatedly about the head with a blunt instrument. I was looking at spark plug gap - not the point gap. Sorry about that. :-X19

.. Like I said.. My build book for a 1960 223 F100 says .017 for the points and .035 for the plugs.. 8 degrees BTDC @ 475 rpm and if U have Ac its 500 rpm...

Tune up settings

My 57 manual says for a 223, ignition points .026 to .028, plugs .035, timing for a 6cyc is 4 BTC, however, mine runs better advanced a little. For an V8 the points are set to .017.
