Hurricane news

I was rereading the Shelby GR-1 article in the new Motor Trend and noticed that they indicate that it'll be powered by a 7.0L of the new Hurricane v8. At the end of the article, they list its stats at 7.0L, DOHC, 600+ hp and 500+ ft-lbs. Looks like the competition is about to heat up for the HEMI.

Ford had to do something and soon, don't really know if Chevy cares ...but Ford had too.
Nice numbers if they sell it that way!~
What is Chevy going to do?

I didn't think the HEMI was that powerful. Or are you talking about old HEMI's?

A HEMI's not that powerful. That's the point. For the past few years, all we've been hearing about is HEMI this, HEMI that, "that thing got a HEMI", my HEMI's faster than your (insert engine hear), and so on and so on. Once that hit's the market, you know what we're going to hear. "It's bigger, so that's not fair". Or "yeah, but it's got DOHC and 4 valves/cylinder".

It doesn't matter what it has .... the purpose is ingenuity .... and to win! That's what engine building and racing USED to be all about. ( And then came NASCAR)

Hi-
Just for the record- 1 liter is equal to 61 cubic inches, and not 60 as previously stated.

thanks

That's just the point. Yet if a Ford owner goes "well the HEMI is bigger' then he'll be cruxified for making a ricer excuse. Yet, when the shoe is on the other foot...

Oh, and 1 liter is equal to 61.02374409473229 cubic inches. Here's a link so you don't have to whip out the calculator everytime.

And here's just a link to general convertors/calculators.

sorry we are both off just a bit.our v10 is 6.8 l or 6800cc div by 415 our ci's=63.85 ci per liter give or take .i'm to old for this just give me c.i's and i'm a happy camper, i've always used 60 as a round about worked for me close to. don't want no flame wars here. to old for that to. how about a draw?

Fordlover55 01-30-2005 07:45 PM

OK ... thanks guys. Well ... after all that multiplying of the 16 digit number, I come up with a Hurricane 427.16+ cubic inch. THAT I can remember. I personally think Ford ought to give the Europeans their liters and give us back our cubic inches. 427 looks nicer on the side of a car or truck than 7.0 does ... I don't care what any European thinks about it!

I do believe the Mopar V10 to be quite a bit larger than 7.0L. So there goes the "It's bigger" excuse.

IB Tim 01-30-2005 07:49 PM

60 sure is easy for this old mind to remember and do the math in my head.

OK so now do I add or devide....haha
