Hurricane news
I was rereading the Shelby GR-1 article in the new Motor Trend and noticed that they indicate that it'll be powered by a 7.0L of the new Hurricane v8. At the end of the article, they list its stats at 7.0L, DOHC, 600+ hp and 500+ ft-lbs. Looks like the competition is about to heat up for the HEMI.

600+ hp and 500+ ft-lbs. Looks like the competition is about to heat up for the HEMI. Nice numbers if they sell it that way!~ What is Chevy going to do? |
I wish they's use dual numbers for us old pharts ... whats a 7.0? 460? 428? 429?

Once that hit's the market, you know what we're going to hear. "It's bigger, so that's not fair". Or "yeah, but it's got DOHC and 4 valves/cylinder". |
liters to ci

Just for the record- 1 liter is equal to 61 cubic inches, and not 60 as previously stated. thanks |

Oh, and 1 liter is equal to 61.02374409473229 cubic inches. Here's a link so you don't have to whip out the calculator everytime. http://www.csgnetwork.com/metvolume.html And here's just a link to general convertors/calculators. http://www.csgnetwork.com/automotiveconverters.html |
sorry we are both off just a bit.our v10 is 6.8 l or 6800cc div by 415 our ci's=63.85 ci per liter give or take .i'm to old for this just give me c.i's and i'm a happy camper, i've always used 60 as a round about worked for me close to. don't want no flame wars here. to old for that to. how about a draw?
|
OK ... thanks guys. Well ... after all that multiplying of the 16 digit number, I come up with a Hurricane 427.16+ cubic inch. THAT I can remember. I personally think Ford ought to give the Europeans their liters and give us back our cubic inches. 427 looks nicer on the side of a car or truck than 7.0 does ... I don't care what any European thinks about it!

I do believe the Mopar V10 to be quite a bit larger than 7.0L. So there goes the "It's bigger" excuse.
